About us

Built on Tradition, Driven by Community

Lex XI Football Club was founded in 1965 by a group of local solicitors with a shared love for the game. The name Lex — Latin for law — reflects those roots and has become a symbol of pride, tradition, and integrity in North East Wales football ever since.

With over 60 years of history, Lex XI has grown into one of the most respected clubs in the region. Our home ground, Stansty Park, is widely recognised as one of the best facilities in North Wales. It’s regularly chosen to host local cup finals and training sessions for elite teams — including Wrexham AFC, North Wales Girls, the Croatia Women’s National Team, and the Turkey U19s in just the past season alone.

Lex XI FC is more than just a football team — we’re a community. With over 60 years of history behind us and big ambitions ahead, we continue to grow both on and off the pitch. Competing in the Ardal Northern League (Tier 3 of the Welsh football pyramid), we’ve recently relaunched a full youth section, expanded our senior teams, and invested heavily in our facilities to support the next generation of players.

Founded in 1965 by a group of local solicitors, Lex XI takes its name from the Latin word Lex, meaning law — a nod to our founding roots and values. Since then, the club has established itself as a key player in North East Wales football, known not just for its longevity, but for the passion and pride that runs through every generation of players, coaches, and supporters.

Our mission is to provide an inclusive, welcoming environment where football brings people together — no matter their age or background. From grassroots to senior level, we aim to create opportunities for development, competition, and community engagement. Football is at our core, but giving back and building connections is what drives us forward.

We’re building a sustainable, community-driven football club that future generations can be proud of. By investing in our facilities, growing our youth programmes, and maintaining high standards on the pitch, our vision is to become a lasting hub for football excellence and local pride in North East Wales.
